Introduction

Khinkali House is a traditional Georgian restaurant located in Glendale, CA that specializes in dumplings known as khinkali. The restaurant had been in operation for several years, but the owners felt that their branding and identity were no longer effectively representing their business. They approached our design agency with the goal of modernizing and updating their branding to better appeal to their target audience and stand out in a competitive market.

Background

Prior to the rebranding project, Khinkali House had a simple logo that consisted of the name of the restaurant in a basic font. The menus and website were functional but lacked visual appeal and did not effectively showcase the restaurant’s offerings. The owners recognized the need for a more cohesive and visually appealing brand identity that accurately reflected the restaurant’s unique cultural heritage and delicious food.

Research

Before beginning the design process, our team conducted extensive research to understand the target audience and competitive landscape for Khinkali House. We conducted market research to gather insights on the preferences and behaviors of the restaurant’s target customers, as well as an analysis of the local restaurant market to understand the opportunities and challenges facing Khinkali House.

Design Process

Based on our research, we developed a new logo for Khinkali House that incorporated the image of a dumpling with a door to symbolize the restaurant as a welcoming and homey place to enjoy traditional Georgian cuisine. We also designed new menus and a website for the restaurant, incorporating visually appealing images of the food and a digital menu with a QR code for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Results

Since the rebranding project was completed, Khinkali House has seen a significant increase in customer satisfaction and sales. The new logo and branding materials have helped the restaurant stand out in a crowded market and attract a wider range of customers. The digital menu with QR code has also been a popular feature, allowing customers to easily access the menu and place orders while maintaining social distancing.
